Volunteer
Volunteers are at the center of the RVNA. Dedicated individuals generously donate their time, serving in various important capacities. All volunteers undergo training enabling them to work with the organization and be a positive experience for them and for the agency. Anyone interested in volunteering should call 970-330-5655.
Board of Directors:
Volunteers from both Larimer and Weld Counties are nominated and selected for the Board of Directors. The board looks at areas of expertise and experience during the selection process when an opening is available.
Interpreter Volunteers
Many of the patients of the agency have English as their second language. Hispanic, Vietnamese, Somalian are a few of the languages encountered when providing care. The agency is always looking for volunteers who can assist us in communicating with our people in need of care.
Office Volunteers
Volunteers who help VNA staff with clerical duties including filing, copying, bulk mailings or data entry
Spotlight on Volunteers
Evaline Thomas
For nearly two years, Evaline Thomas has been quietly assisting RVNA with office tasks as a volunteer.
Coming to Colorado from Missouri in 1961, she worked for the Department of Agriculture for 26 years.
Evaline beams when asked how she came to be a volunteer -- as she tells it, it was by divine providence. While occupied in the consumption of a Big Mac, Evaline had a chance meeting with Marcia Schaefer, the director of RSVP, an organization working with senior volunteers. After chatting with Marcia, Evaline signed up with the RSVP program and they put her in touch with Katherine Joyce.
After nearly two years, Evaline says she looks forward to coming in to do filing and updating benefits manual records. Says Evaline, “The work I do here at RVNA adds value to my life. And I intend to volunteer until I’m no longer able.”
“She’s of great value to RVNA because of her organizational skills,” says Katherine. “Ask her to let you hear her ring tone (a giggling child) and you will understand her positive attitude.”
Thank you Evaline for all you do for RVNA.
