Who Pays for Home Care?

Who Pays for Home Health Care? When you or a loved one needs home health care, the last thing you want to worry about is how you’ll pay for it. At the Rehabilitation and Visiting Nurse Association, we’ll work with you to determine your specific coverage and help you access the care that’s needed. Call us and we will help you find out what your insurance will pay for. We accept a variety of payment options. Following are some of the ways you may be able to pay for our services:

  • Medicare: a federally funded program, primarily for those 65 and older

  • Medicaid: a program funded by federal and state governments, primarily for those with limited resources and income

  • Private health insurance: employer-sponsored as well as individually-purchased insurance, managed care programs, and long-term care insurance

  • Private pay/out-of-pocket: using your own money to pay for services

  • Charitable Care: for those in need of care with no resources and who don’t qualify for other programs.

Please note that Medicare and Medicaid have precise criteria that must be met for eligibility, and that there may be limits to what they and private insurance companies will cover.

No Cost to you if you have Original Medicare

You can get help at home at No Cost to you if you have Original Medicare.

If you are hospitalized or in a skilled nursing facility or rehabilitation center, ask for us by name, Rehabilitation and Visiting Nurse Association (RVNA). We will work closely with the facility to be sure that your care for when you return home is arranged at the time of discharge.

You may need us at any time if your care needs change. One example would be when your doctor makes changes to your medication and treatments that require teaching and monitoring at home. Another example would be help moving around and using a new walker or cane that was ordered by your doctor.

All you need to do is contact one of our caring professionals at 970-330-5655 or 970-225-9399. We will help you get you the care that you need at home.
